Nestled within the serene Swiss-Garden Resort Residences in Balok, Pahang, hejōmatcha. is a captivating coffee shop dedicated to the art and love of matcha. This charming café has grown from its humble beginnings as a quaint roadside stall into a beloved local gem that tea enthusiasts and casual visitors alike eagerly seek out.
From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by an aesthetic that perfectly mirrors the vibrant and refreshing nature of matcha itself — a fresh palette of greens and soft pinks that creates an inviting, Instaworthy atmosphere. It’s no surprise that this spot quickly became the go-to hangout, especially on weekends when groups flock here to enjoy its unique offerings together.
Although the menu focuses predominantly on matcha-based beverages and treats, hejōmatcha. takes care to get every detail just right. Take, for example, their signature Matcha Cream — a lovingly crafted drink boasting a rich, beautifully balanced matcha flavor that effortlessly dances on the palate, leaving a lingering delight that customers rave about. Syarafina Hashim’s glowing review perfectly captures this sensation: “The taste was absolutely perfect, the rich matcha flavor was beautifully balanced…” Similarly, the matcha burnt cheesecake is another standout, celebrated for its creamy texture and subtle bitterness that perfectly complements the sweetness, making each bite utterly indulgent.
While the cup sizes might lean toward the modest side, the quality and intensity of flavor more than compensate, offering each customer a concentrated burst of authentic matcha goodness. The café’s popularity speaks volumes: Izzatul Arisya notes how it’s often bustling by late morning on weekends, a testament to its viral status and loyal fanbase who appreciate not just the drinks, but the cozy vibe perfect for socializing or a quiet moment of indulgence.
Fans like Alyaa Nabilaa proudly recount the journey from the original roadside stall to this current stylish space, emphasizing the genuine love and craftsmanship that remain at the heart of hejōmatcha.’s offerings. And for families, places like this become more than just a coffee stop—they become cherished local hangouts that foster warmth and good times, as seen through comments from Aminuddin Jaafar about his daughter’s affection for the spot.
Do prepare for queues during peak hours, as the café’s small, intimate size means it fills up quickly. Though some have suggested improvements like a buzzer system to enhance waiting comfort, the vibrant energy inside is also part of the charm—giving off a community feel where matcha lovers share in their passion together.
For anyone traveling through Kuantan or exploring the serene outskirts of Pahang, hejōmatcha. is not just a coffee shop—it is a refreshing, flavorful destination that offers a deeply satisfying matcha experience, skillfully marrying taste, ambience, and local culture into every sip and bite.

I had been saving this spot on my "must-try" list for ages, but I never found the right opportunity to visit, until our spontaneous trip to Pahang made it happen! I finally got the chance to try their highly rated matcha drink. I ordered the Matcha Cream, and honestly, I instantly fell in love with it. The taste was absolutely perfect, the rich matcha flavor was beautifully balanced when combined with the sweet cream. The balance was spot on! I will definitely be stopping by again if I get another chance to visit the area.

If you're a matcha lover, this place is a must-visit. I dropped by on a Sunday around 11:30am — and it was already packed, especially with groups of girls, so you know it’s going viral for a reason. The café itself is super aesthetic with a fresh green and pink theme — totally Insta-worthy. I tried their matcha drink and matcha burnt cheesecake… and let me just say, every sip and bite was worth it, even on my way back to KL. The only sad part? They currently only have two branches — Kuantan and Kemaman. So if you're from KL, better plan a road trip because this gem isn't here (yet!).

Their matcha is really good — rich and flavorful — though the cup size is a bit small. If you’re visiting Kuantan, this place is definitely worth a try! There’s usually a queue to order, and since the shop is quite small, it can get crowded inside. It would be great if they could consider using a buzzer system so customers can wait comfortably in their cars instead of being called by name. Still, the drinks are absolutely worth the wait!

One of my daughter's favourite lepak spot or their term is 'hang'. Tasted different (in a good way) she says. Price is reasonable lah. Same as other outlets. I don't really like the taste so not saying anything. Ratings by my daughter, so ye lah..
